It All Gets Down To Relationships
Solid, honest, intimate and trustworthy relationships are key to a more fulfilling life. When we feel connected to the people who are important to us, other things in life tend to run more smoothly. We do better in our jobs when we feel appreciated by our bosses. We parent better when we feel our spouse will back us up. We can act more naturally with our friends if we are able to be open and honest with them. We can feel more comfortable in our own skin when we are clear on what we feel and why.
When relationships falter, our whole lives can feel turned upside down. After a trying morning with the kids or a difficult visit with one’s parents, it is harder to concentrate at work. People often feel anxious, angry, frustrated, depressed, or vulnerable when something has gone wrong in a relationship. They may withdraw, act angrily, or become desperate.
Achieving more fulfilling relationships is possible through discovering what is getting in the way of experiencing comfort and connection in relationships. Working together in counseling, we’ll get to know who you are and what’s important to you in order to improve your sense of self and self-confidence. When we take time to understand why we feel and react the way we do, we gain more control over our lives and our relationships. When we feel better about ourselves and understand ourselves better, we reduce the level of anxiety and depression that we experience.
